jon brion, again

the whole of my year has been spent with jon brion. sorry guys, this is just what happens.

on january 2nd, he played a small show at martyr's, which just so happens to be walking distance from my apartment. i got hassled by friends to go, though i was still beat up from the holiday, and david was once again nice enough to give me a +1, so i made my way over and met my friend kevin.

this show was even more incredible, given the intimate setting and less douche-y crowd; jon picked out adorable lou barlow looking dude to play bass and they performed a few beatles songs with pat from wilco and some other dude. normally i fie anyone who decides to cover the beatles because its like, well come on dude. buuuuut, this was basically the awesomest thing i've ever seen. they did i want you (she's so heavy) and we left thoroughly rocked out. high fives all around.

so, the main intent of this blog is to sort of post a photo almost every day and chat about, you know, crap and life and crap. or just what's going on. not get too far into sad bastard territory because been there done that and i am actively attempting to change things this year, 2008. and i have a camera and full intend on using it as much as possible. even for silly stuff.
